Basic information and rates of the mountain hut

The basic service rates, published in the attached PDF documents, are valid for all
the current year. There are no different seasonal rates.
Car parking fees in Sadernes regulated car park are not included under any circumstances. They must be paid directly to the Alta Garrotxa Consortium, through its system of online bookings. For an overnight stay at the refuge, a parking space must be reserved for 2 days, when parking regulations are in seasonal operation.

Regulations and cancellations
Important information, read carefully before booking your stay:
Cancellations and date changes
- For date changes communicated with 7 or more days notice before the reserved date, there is no penalty.
- With less than 7 days notice, a penalty of 25% of the total amount of the reservation will be applied.
- Date changes are subject to availability of places on the new date chosen.
- Cancellations communicated with 15 days or more notice before the reservation date will be given a full refund of payment and reservation fee. Between 15 and 7 days, a 50% refund is available. With less than 7 days notice of a cancellation, there is no right to a return of the payment and reservation fee.
- Extenuating circumstances must be communicated to the refuge by email
and will be considered (logistics@refugidesantaniol.cat). - Bad weather will not be considered an extenuating circumstance, except in cases of extreme weather warnings, with restrictions officially communicated by the authorities.
Rules and regulations of the mountain hut
- No dogs or any other pets allowed inside the building.
- It is strictly forbidden to smoke and/or light any kind of flame.
- Personal soaps and shampoos must not be used. The refuge provides an organic liquid soap to guarantee the proper functioning of the biological treatment plant.
- All toilet paper, paper towels, tampons, sanitary pads and nappies, etc. must be deposited in specific containers in each toilet, to be incinerated.
- You don’t need to bring a sleeping bag or a sleeping mat. The dormitories are equipped with mattresses, duvets and pillows with the corresponding covers. You should bring a thin sleeping bag liner, or you can use one from the refuge for a small fee.
- The showers work with a timer system using tokens. You need to bring your own towels.
- There are slippers available to guests. Mountain shoes, backpacks and walking sticks cannot be taken to the bedrooms. It is advisable to bring a small bag for your overnight things, but in the shelter there are baskets available for this purpose.
- On the main floor, dining room area, there is free Wi-Fi connection with limited data use of 3MB.
- The refuge has a fixed telephone number: 0034 872 20 58 42 and a telephone for communications via WhatsApp only: 0034 621 127 541.
- Dinner is served at 8:00 p.m. from April to October and at 7:30 p.m. from November to March. It is recommended to advise the refuge if you expect to arrive late.
- Arrivals later than 22:00 hours will only be admitted in exceptional cases and provided that no dinner has been reserved.
- Breakfast is a self-service buffet offering sweet and savoury options and includes hot drinks. It is served between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. from April to October and between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. from November to March.
- The dormitories must be evacuated before 9:00 am.
- Lunch is served between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- A picnic packed lunch is available on request. It is preferable to notify in advance.
- Please inform staff of any specific food needs in your party, and we will try to adapt our menu. We cannot guarantee preparation of meals for celiac people.
- There is an alternative space for use available on the ground floor of the building, with capacity for 8 people. Here you have to bring a sleeping bag and a mat. There are tables and benches, a wood stove and a counter to cook with portable stoves. There is lighting and electricity points, but there is no water or services.
- For the use of this space, a modest amount per person is requested, as a contribution to its maintenance. The keys must be requested from the refuge. During the weeks of closure of the main refuge, between the end of January and the middle of February, this space works as a free shelter and for emergency use. Only overnight stays are allowed, it must not be occupied during daytime hours, and it is not available for booking.
- The refuge is not responsible for the collection of waste from external visitors. Everyone must take responsibility for their own rubbish.
- The refuge’s toilets are for the exclusive use of guests who stay overnight and are not open to other visitors. The biological treatment plant does not have the capacity to process the depositions of all visitors, and any excess could seriously contaminate the environment.
